Critical Inquiry Group (CIG)
A CIG is a small group of faculty who are interested in engaging in the Scholarship of Teaching by pursuing the implementation and effects of new teaching strategies or technologies. The goal of CIG is to provide time and space to work on teaching.
The group commits to meeting on a regular basis for at least 4 months to discuss, share, evaluate, and possibly disseminate findings from their teaching practice. The work of a CIG could lead to more formal classroom-based action research, but it could also be a social and collegial space for the group to support each other while experimenting with new practices.
