Data can be used as powerful supporting evidence in academic research, but finding appropriate datasets can be intimidating to beginners. In this workshop, we will learn about the various Statistics Canada products available, with a particular focus on CANSIM and the Canadian Census. We will also look at some techniques for finding, manipulating, and citing these products. This workshop will be of particular interest to students who are beginning or wishing to use statistics in their research or who wish to learn more about Statistics Canada’s data products specifically.
