Writing a Philosophy of Teaching Statement
What is effective teaching? If you have never written a Philosophy of Teaching Statement (POTS), this workshop is for you!
A Philosophy of Teaching Statement is a required component of a professional portfolio when one is going forward for Tenure and/or Promotion. This hands-on session will begin with a presentation of the components of a POTS, a pair/group critique of some sample POTS, and end with a 20 minute guided writing exercise to begin exploring your philosophy of teaching and learning.
