This full-day session will provide faculty with the opportunity to explore and create materials for use in their “flipped” courses. As per the flipped approach to instruction, participants will be provided readings, tools, and other resources in advance of the session. The morning session will focus on discussing what is meant by flipped learning, blended learning, and strategies through which these approaches can be used to enhance teaching and learning in a wide range of academic disciplines and settings. In the afternoon session, participants will have the opportunity to try learning technologies available through TRU to create learning objects and other resources for use in their upcoming courses. Technologies available for use in this hands-on workshop will include: Moodle applications such as surveys and assessment tools; blogs and Wordpress; wikis and databases for student use; videos for students and/or faculty; H5P learning objects; Big Blue Button / online conferencing; others as determined by participant interest.
