M.Ed.: Research for Literature Reviews, RefWorks, and Citation Management

In this workshop, learn about finding academic resources and grey literature for your literature review. We’ll cover working with your topic and creating keywords to get the best results in library resources and online, choosing where to search, and implementing advanced search techniques and strategies. We’ll also look at finding grey literature, such as government documents, theses, and organization policies. Finding a broad range of materials will ensure that your literature review is thorough and complete.

Then, we'll look at citation management systems: citation management systems gather your resources’ citations into one place to help you organize your information: no more searching for where that link ended up! Find out how these tools work and how you can use them to manage your resources and create correctly formatted bibliographies—in seconds. If possible, bring a laptop or other device to follow along and get set up with RefWorks so you can start organizing your research.
