Tailored for those just arriving at TRU or brand new to the Moodle environment, this “just-in-time” programming suite is designed to get you up-and-running in Moodle with limited panic and stress. Six one-hour sessions, with lots of additional support resources, will cover the basics so you can focus on teaching.
Moodle 911 I: Setting Up Your Shell (Jan 6, 12-1)
- This session covers the basics of a Moodle set-up and reviews settings and formatting options.
Moodle 911 II: Loading In Your Content (Jan 6, 1-2)
- This session focuses on getting course materials, from documents to video, into your course shell and available to students.
Moodle 911 III: Forums and Assignments (Jan 7, 12-1)
- In this session, we’ll discuss using the Forum and Assignment tools effectively, as well as options for grading.
Moodle 911 IV: Quizzes (Jan 7, 1-2)
- This session looks at building quizzes in Moodle, from test banks to building the assessments themselves..
Moodle 911 V: Gradebook (Jan 8, 12-1)
- In our final organized session, we’ll tackle setting up your gradebook so it’s easy for you and meaningful for students.
Moodle 911 VI: Open Office Hours (Jan 8, 1-2)
- Come and ask any remaining questions to make sure you feel ready for Monday.
