In the classroom, international students strive to be successful learners while being positioned at the intersection of language, culture and academic standards. My own experiences as an international student and language learner in two foreign countries (South Korea and Canada) reveal the confluence of student responsibilities and challenges, and the value of a well-structured system. In this workshop, attendees will engage with international students’ experiences, discuss successful faculty strategies, and make plans on how they can foster an inclusive classroom for their learners.

This workshop is supported by the 2024-25 TRU-TRUFA EDI Fellowship Program.
